Is Honesty the Best Policy?
The day is here! The day we've (well, some of us) have all been waiting for. It's debate day! There has been quite a bit of hoopla surrounding this debate and its position on facts. Who's the most honest candidate? Are either of them whom we want in a president? Why is one leading the polls over the other? And, what I believe to be the biggest scandal yet, should we have a fact checker at the debate?
According to recent news, Donald Trump would prefer not to have a fact checker at this debate, specifically one from CNN. This is sparking major controversy over the possibility that Trump lies more than Clinton. Some studied have shown that Clinton has been more honest than Trump, but one needs to dig just a little deeper to understand what that really means.
There is propaganda technique known as smoke and mirrors that politicians use to bend truths and facts to cater to their agenda. The politician in essence is telling you the truth, or giving you a credible fact, however, the real question is, does that fact actually fit and remain truthful with the canidate's policies?
Maybe this is what Trump is trying to explain to us in his Trump-like way. But never worry, if elected, we're going to have an awesome wall!
This week, watch or read about the presidentially campaign and do your own fact checking on both candidates. After checking the facts, explain to me which candidate should be elected, based on their policies and your findings.
